No news can be good news. Perhaps a gubernatorial visit means there's been a disaster or an emergency, but yesterday when John Bel Edwards visited Plain Dealing, LA, it was all for good. Good because a Louisiana governor hasn't visited the small town since 1949. Good because he was coming to celebrate a groundbreaking of Teal Jones' sawmill project, a multi-million dollar investment in Plain Dealing and Northwest Louisiana as a whole. Good because this means solid jobs for Plain Dealing. Good because true collaboration between the State, Bossier Parish, and The Port of Caddo-Bossier made this investment possible.
Congrats and well done to Rocky Rockett of the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation. Rockett linked these entities' incentives and financing together to land the deal in Plain Dealing.
